Windows 10

A successor to Windows 8.1, the release of Windows 10 by Microsoft for commercial sales began on 29 July 2015, as part of the family of Windows NT for operating systems. Since its initial release, new updates to the Windows 10 OS happen regularly. Users can opt in for these critical updates or can choose to delay the updates to install them at a slower pace.

Features of Windows 10

• A major achievement of Windows 10 is its functionality of adapting itself for both keyboard-mouse and touch-screen interfaces. This has allowed companies build a “two-in-one PC” system with support for both keyboard and touch-screen. Thishas made it easier to run a single application across multiple devices such as tablets, PCs, Xbox One, smartphones, and even Virtual reality.
• Another achievement is its support for applications across various Microsoft devices, with the help of identical code.
• Microsoft has revamped the Windows interface to increase the features offered to the users. It has brought back the start menu following the disastrous Windows 8 decision to remove it.

• Windows 10 supports the compression of system files, thus increasing the space in Windows. For 32-bit PC, it reduces the size of system files by 1.5 GB.  For 64-bit PCs, it reduces the files by 2.6 GB.
• Introduction of a new web browser, Microsoft Edge, for this Windows PC promises faster browser speed and Edge is considered a modern replacement and revamp for the classical Internet Explorer. Edge browser has guaranteed increased internet speeds.
• Cortana, the personal assistant of Microsoft, is well integrated into the Windows 10 Operating System. Support of Text and Voice Input by Cortana is a replacement for the search feature of Windows.
• Windows 10 supports web searches, opening applications, setting alarms, etc.

Windows 10 System Requirements

Windows 10 supports 1 GHz clock rate processor with PrefetchW with LAHF/SAHF instructions. The required RAM for Windows 10 is 1 GB for 32-bit PC and 2 GB for 64-bit PC. It supports a DirectX9 graphics card and 800 to 600 pixels is the benchmark. The storage space required is 16 GB for 32 bit PC and 20 GB for 64 bit PC. The minimum requirement for computers running Windows 10 is a mouse and keyboard.
