Engage in realistic graphical battles on a World War 2 battlefield

New game mechanics

Call of Duty WWII brings the game series back to its roots, with boots on the ground, realistic physics mechanics, and believable battle segments. As a first-person shooter game, the series has grown significantly over the past years. Sprinting is now limited, and the feature known as “sliding” has been changed into a more realistic “diving” feature, which allows the player to quickly leap forward and take up a new position.

The campaign follows the story of a US Army Private (1st infantry division) called “Ronald Red Daniel”. The story is based on the realistic events of various battles which occured in France during World War 2, starting with the Normandy landings. The player has a platoon, with which he builds a relationship throughout the game. For example, at the start of the game, one of the platoon members, Zussman, has to be taken care of following a stabbing by you and your team. Other battles the player goes through include Operation Cobra, the Battle of Hürtgen Forest and the infamous Battle of the Bulge.

Although the game’s storyline is interesting and would engage the average player, the strength of previous COD games lie in the game’s multiplayer mode, where players can spend hours on end battling opponents. Players can play as either the Allies, of the Germans (Wehrmacht). There are five divisions which the player can choose from, based on war-based divisions which include infantry, airborne, armored, mountain and expeditionary.

TL;DR Call of Duty: WWII is the long-awaited 2017 release of the famous first-person shooter game, Call of Duty. Considered by many as a comeback for the series, the game was met with high reviews and impressive sales.
